Folláine

Folláine/Wellbeing

Áirítear nádúr iltoiseach na Folláine sa sainmhíniú seo a leanas (An Eagraíocht Dhomhanda Sláinte (EDS/ WHO), 2001):

Is ann d’fholláine an duine nuair a éiríonn leis/léi lán-acmhainn a bhaint amach, nuair a léiríonn sé/sí teacht aniar agus é/í ag déileáil le gnáthstruis an tsaoil, nuair a thugann sé/sí aire dá fholláine choirp, agus má mhothaíonn sé/sí go bhfuil cuspóir, ceangal agus mothú chomhuintearais aige/aici le pobal níos leithne. Staid iomlaoideach í seo ar gá í a chothú le linn saol an duine.

The following definition of Wellbeing aims to take account of its multi-dimensional nature (World Health Organisation (WHO), 2001).

Wellbeing is present when a person realises their potential, is resilient in dealing with the normal stresses of their life, takes care of their physical wellbeing and has a sense of purpose, connection and belonging to a wider community. It is a fluid way of being and needs nurturing throughout life.

Tá sé mar aidhm ag Coláiste Ghlór na Mara an ráiteas thuas a bhaint amach dár ndaltaí ar fad ó Bhliain 1 chuig Bliain 6. Tá clár folláine i bhfeidhm sa scoil, atá fite fuaite le curaclam na scoile I ngach ábhar a mhúintear sa seomra ranga agus a théann níos faide arís, isteach chuig mórphobal na scoile. Tugtar deis dár ndaltaí barr a gcumais a bhaint amach san ealaín, sa cheol, sa spórt agus sa drámaíocht agus mar thoradh air sin, nasctar iad le daltaí eile ar scoil agus aimsíonn siad feidhm iontu féin air scoil.

Coláiste Ghlór na Mara strives to achieve this for each of its students from first to sixth year. There is an extensive Wellbeing Programme in place, fostered through the curriculum across all subject areas in the classroom and in the wider school community. Students are provided with opportunities in art, music, sport and drama to reach their potential, develop a sense of purpose and as a result connect with others in the school.

Tá clár folláinte na scoile le haimsiú sna réimsí seo a leanas:

(1) Déantar OSPS, Corpoideachas agus gairmthreoir i ngach bliainghrúpa

(2) Déatar OSSP i mBliain 1-3
