Staidéar Maoirsithe 2022-2023 (Leagan Gaeilge)
Tá áthas orainn fógra a dhéanamh go mbeidh an staidéar maoirsithe ag tosú ar an Luan 10ú Meán Fómhair 2023. Tá staidéar maoirsithe ar fáil do chách i gColáiste Ghlór na Mara i ngach bliainghrúpa. Tugtar deis do na daltaí, faoi stiúradh ár múinteoirí, smacht a choinneáil orthu féin agus díriú ar obair bhaile agus dul siar a dhéanamh i dtimpeallacht chiúin, chompordach agus chairdiúil. Ní cuirfear suas le drochiompar ar chor ar bith agus déantar teagmháil le tuismitheoirí trí ríomhphost/trí ghuthán mura bhfuil a bpáiste ag baint úsáid éifeachtach as an tréimhse staidéir.
Reáchtálfar dhá cheardlann staidéir dóibh siúd atá cláraithe don Staidéar Maoirsithe: ceann amháin i Mí Mheán Fómhair agus ceann amháin eile i dtreo na Scrúduithe Stát/Scrúduithe an tSamhraidh. Gheobhaidh gach dalta atá cláraithe don Staidéar Maoirsithe pacáiste staidéir agus beidh cead acu cúnamh a fháil leis an obair bhaile ó na múinteoirí i bhfeighil.
Má tá ullmhúcháin le déanamh ag dalta ar bith do MRBanna, scrúduithe cainte nó cuir i láthair, cuirtear spás ar fáil dóibh chun é seo a dhéanamh go príobháideach.
Beidh staidéar maoirsithe ar fáil ar feadh dhá uair an chloig tar éis na scoile, ceithre lá in aghaidh na seachtaine (Luan-Déardaoin), gach seachtain, go dtí deireadh na scoilbhliana. Tá 5 tréimhse staidéir ann i mbliana:
(1) Tréimhse 1: 10ú Meán Fómhair - 21ú Nollaig (€150)
(2) Tréimhse 2: 8ú Eanáir - 30ú Bealtaine (€150)
Tá lascaine ar fáil do dheartháireacha agus deirfiúracha: íocann an chéad pháiste an costas iomlán ach faigheann an dara páiste agus ar aghaidh lascaine de €20 in aghaidh na tréimhse.
Is féidir clárú le haghaidh uair an chloig don staidéar maoirsithe ach moltar é seo do dhaltaí Bliain 1 agus 2 amháin. Na costais dó seo ná:
(1) Tréimhse 1: 10ú Meán Fómhair - 21ú Nollaig (€80)
(2) Tréimhse 2: 8ú Eanáir - 30ú Bealtaine (€80)

(2) Seolfar ríomhphost chugat le rá go bhfuil rogha agat ar VSWare íocaíocht a dhéanamh don staidéar maoirsithe. Íoc é seo ag tús gach tréimhse, le do thoil.
Supervised Study (English Version)
We’re happy to announce that Coláiste Ghlór na Mara will be providing supervised study again this year. Supervised study will recommence on Monday 10th September 2023. Supervised study is strongly recommended for secondary school students, especially those in 3rd and 6th year. It’s important for students to develop a routine of study to reach their potential in house and state examinations. According to national studies, 1.5 hours of supervised study in a school environment is the equivalent of 3 hours’ study at home.
Supervised study is being offered to all students in Coláiste Ghlór na Mara, from every year group. Students are given the opportunity to focus on homework and revision, under the supervision and with the help of one of our teachers, in a quiet, comfortable and friendly environment. If students need help with their homework, our teachers will be happy to help them. Students will have the use of a quiet reflection room if they need to prepare for CBAs/oral exams/presentations. Bad behaviour will not be tolerated and parents/guardians will be contacted by email/phone if their child is not making effective use of their time during study.
Two special study skills workshops will be provided to those registered for supervised study in September and before the State Exams/Summer Exams. A study pack will also be provided.
Supervised study is being offered for 2 hours after school, four days a week (Monday-Thursday), every week until the end of the school year. Payment is broken down into 5 separate periods as follows:
(1) Period 1: 10th September - 21st December (€150)
(2) Period 2: 8th January - 30th May (€150)
Discounts are available for siblings: the first child pays the full price but any siblings thereafter receive a discount of €20 per pay period.
Students can register for supervised study for one hour a day, but this option is advisable to 1st and 2nd year students only. The price for students registering for one hour is as follows:
(1) Period 1: 10th September - 21st December (€80)
(2) Period 2: 8th January - 30th May (€80)
TO REGISTER YOUR CHILD FOR AFTER-SCHOOL STUDY:
(1) Send an email to cian@cgnm.ie with your child's name, class and year group. Your child will be registered and may start immediately after the email is sent.
(2) Upon receipt of an email confirming your child's place, an option will become available on VSWare to pay for supervised study for your child. Please pay for study at the beginning of each pay period, as listed above.
